About the Position

TransForce is seeking experienced Yard Hostler Drivers for a busy yard operation in Fontana, California. This position offers competitive hourly pay, overtime after 8 hours each day, and a consistent rotating schedule. Drivers will move and organize trailers, inspect equipment, and help maintain safe and efficient yard operations.

Pay & Schedule

• $26.00 per hour for Class A drivers
• $24.00 per hour for Class C drivers
• Overtime after 8 hours per day
• 12-hour shifts, 4:00 AM – 4:00 PM
• Schedule A: Thursday through Saturday and every other Wednesday
• Schedule B: Sunday through Tuesday and every other Wednesday
• Rotating 3-day and 4-day workweeks

Job Details

• Position: Yard Hostler / Yard Spotter
• Location: Fontana, CA
• Equipment: Yard trucks and trailers
• Work environment: Outdoor yard operations
• Handling: Trailer movements, equipment inspections, and yard audits

Key Responsibilities

• Safely move and position trailers and equipment throughout the yard.
• Organize trailers and maintain designated parking areas.
• Walk the yard to inspect equipment and identify maintenance concerns.
• Conduct routine equipment and yard audits.
• Communicate with management and outside vendors regarding equipment repairs.
• Maintain accurate equipment records and report safety concerns.
• Follow all applicable yard and company safety procedures.

Minimum Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL or Class C driver's license
• At least 6 months of recent Yard Hostler experience within the last 2 years
• Ability to safely maneuver and position trailers in a busy yard environment
• Comfortable working 12-hour shifts and scheduled overtime
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Must meet all applicable DOT and safety requirements
