POSITION:
Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL A) – Local Independent Driver (Semi-tractor with 48’ Flatbed truck)
LOCATION:
Hiring within the Tampa Bay Area (Spring Hill, Odessa, and Tampa, Florida), with a radius of [e.g., approximately 60 miles per load].
OVERALL SUMMARY
Drive locally, be home daily, join a dedicated team and may earn approximately $1,300.00 weekly. Drivers at Leisure Transporting play a crucial role in safely and efficiently moving building materials (example, concrete material) for local entities. Driver’s primary responsibility is to operate manual transmission semi-tractors with 48’ flatbed trailers to haul concrete and other building materials, while strictly adhering to all safety regulations and protocols. Professionalism is expected in every aspect of their work, from maintaining vehicle cleanliness and conducting pre-trip inspections to ensuring accurate documentation of shipments.
In addition to transporting materials, drivers are responsible for securing load and unstrapping materials, making sure deliveries are damage-free and completed on schedule. Providing exceptional customer service is a key part of their job, as they interact with clients at various job sites. Drivers must also maintain their equipment, keep detailed records, and follow all company and legal guidelines to guarantee the safe and timely delivery of materials to local customers.
EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND LICENSE REQUIRED
- Possess a valid CLD-A driver’s license
- A minimum of 2 years CDL A driving experience
- Must be able to operate a manual transmission semi-tractor with a 48’ flatbed trailer safely and efficiently
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Ability to scan proof of delivery documents as pdf files and email them daily to the Administration Team
JOB DETAILS:
- Transport block, mortar, and all other materials to job site in a safe manner
- Receive from schedulers/dispatcher invoice for materials, directions to job site and any special instructions and follow them to the detail
- Perform pre-trip inspections of assigned vehicle and report immediately any concerns or problems
- Operate tractor-trailer/vehicle according to state and federal laws and observe all safety regulations established by the company and DMV
- Monitor and immediately report problems with assigned equipment operations, product quality, customer satisfaction and traffic
- Safety Compliance: Consistently follow all DOT, OSHA, and company safety guidelines.
- Vehicle Operations: Safely operate, load, and unload heavy vehicles, including ready-mix trucks, and work safely in all weather conditions.
- Documentation: Complete pre-use vehicle inspections, maintenance reports, and delivery tickets accurately.
- Communication: Keep regular contact with dispatch and job site staff to ensure timely deliveries.
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine care and cleaning of vehicles and equipment.
- Job Requirements: Maintain a safe driving record, use proper personal protective equipment, and consistently arrive on time.
