About the Position

Our client is seeking a dependable Local CDL A Flatbed Driver for a home-daily position hauling heavy steel equipment. This role requires a strong work ethic, independent judgment, and the ability to work in a hot industrial environment.

Pay & Schedule Details

• Pay starts at $29 per hour, depending on experience.
• Potential pay range is $25–$30 per hour based on experience and qualifications.
• Overtime paid after 40 hours.
• Start time is 5:00 a.m. sharp with no exceptions.
• Typical workdays may last 10–12 hours.
• Home daily.

Job Details

• Route type: Local deliveries, with routes extending up to approximately 250 miles in any direction.
• Freight: Heavy steel equipment and oversized loads.
• Equipment: Newer 2023–2024 International and Freightliner day cabs.
• Handling: Light-touch work. Loads are generally handled by a forklift operator, while the driver assists with spotting as needed.
• Tarping is not required.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate a CDL A flatbed truck safely on local routes.
• Spot and strap loads as required.
• Secure loads appropriately before transport.
• Strap and unstrap freight at delivery locations.
• Coordinate with forklift operators during loading and unloading.
• Work independently while maintaining reliable and trustworthy performance.
• Perform job duties safely in a hot industrial environment.

Minimum Requirements

• 2+ years of recent, relevant, and verifiable driving experience.
• Valid CDL A license.
• Clean Motor Vehicle Record with no major traffic violations or preventable accidents in the last 3 years.
• Must meet all DOT and FMCSA requirements.
• Experience spotting and strapping loads.
• Ability to work independently and handle physically demanding job conditions.

Preferred Qualifications

• 6–12 months of experience hauling heavy steel equipment.
• At least 6 months of oversized-load experience.
