About the Position
We are currently seeking experienced Local CDL A Drivers for a touch freight position. This role is ideal for drivers based in Greensboro, NC, who have the ability to take the truck home if they have a secure location. The position is seasonal, running from May to October, with the possibility of temp-to-hire for outstanding performance.
Pay & Schedule Details
- Pay Rate: $25 per hour
- Overtime: Available after 40 hours
- Schedule: Monday - Saturday, with a possible day off during the week
- Dispatch Time: Between 4 AM - 7 AM (average dispatch at 5 AM)
Job Details
- Route Type: Local
- Freight: Hauling fruits and vegetables for clients such as Food Lion and Harris Teeter
- Equipment: Manual transmission truck
- Handling:
- 5 - 10 stops per day
- Unloading with a pallet jack; some pallets may need to be broken down into multiple orders
- Some customers unload at docks; may require a liftgate or ramp at the back of the truck
Key Responsibilities
- Obtain signed BOL/invoices at deliveries and pickups
- Handle cash for COD deliveries and return to the office after the route
- Report to designated locations and hours
Minimum Requirements
- 3+ years of recent, relevant, and verifiable driving experience
- Clean Motor Vehicle Record (no major traffic violations or preventable accidents in the last 3 years)
- Must meet all DOT and FMCSA requirements
